Open Question: How is life a a boarding/residential high school in the united states?

Im currently in a regular private catholic highschool, but i am considering going to lsmsa (louisiana school of math, science, and art) it's basically a public residential magnet school about fivehours away from my home town of new orleans, i really would like to go to this school because it has alot more intersting advanced classes that my current school doesn't offer, and it's also more affordable seeing as it's pretty much free and my current school tuition is around 7,000, the only thing im worried about is moving into a dorm, has anyone ever lived in a dorm and can tell me how it is, or has anyone been to lsmsa, im intersted to see how dorms life is...
